Beauty in the Fleeting

There’s a place in the sky where the sun hits

that brings beauty to the on-looking eye

halfway to kiss the horizon line.

Where moments passed and moments to come

it will no longer rest. Where if you look

down for a moment it’ll surely be gone.

It’s as if the beauty of things

sometimes comes

from their fleeting.

Like the lingering warmth of a lover’s touch

or the exchange with those lover’s eyes

that last night before morning comes,

and those lovers part their ways

a moment together encased as yesterday’s

now is surely gone.

Faded Reality

Have you ever looked into the vast unknown

and thought it to be a painting?

As if the colors of the sky and the grass

were too muted to be reality?

Out beyond a vast expanse of trees

below their shadowing’s,

a place where the sun sits and

the ground seems illuminated from within.

Where you can’t tell exactly

the substance before you,

and that the whole that’s greater than

it’s parts. The lines faded,

objects blend

one into the next

creating an illusion

that you eyes cannot fathom.
