I am in love with
the parts of your heart
that are hardest
to see.

This Great Big World
Sitting in
a circle of nearly 25
I look at
the faces around me and wonder if they’ve all cried
Though
their faces are blank right now
I see
wrinkles from once furrowed brows
I begin
to ponder what their stories are
Where
they came from, what’s made them scar
And I
begin to see us as more of the same
All have
felt joy, and all experienced pain
So this
seemingly random group of faces
Who’ve
come together from all different places
We just
don’t seem so different after all
Because
this great big world is actually rather small
And we’re
all different this we should celebrate
But
haven’t we all fallen subject to the same fate?
Please,
my friends, wont you do the same for me
Look in
my eyes and my heart really see
Because
these fronts we put on they’re rather deceptive
False
facades masking the messy, dirty lives we all live
And true
beauty comes through when you see what’s behind
Closed
eyes, shaking hands, soul and heart you will find

Unlove Affair
You got me stuck in your love but you let it come undone,
now when I see you it knocks the wind right out of my lungs.
Summer’s sun has set and I guess that’s all that sustained
us,
I’m not sure why I ever thought this could be painless.
Because they sometimes come, but they always go,
a painful lesson I have come to know.
So my heaving lungs, gasping for air,
will carry me through this unlove affair.
And I’ll say my goodbyes but I’ll see you around
for that bond we shared has been lost, not found.
But this, I beg, you will always know,
it wasn’t my choice, but yours, to let me go.

Moments to Memories
They say you never know
the value of a moment
until it becomes
a memory. I think
the same is true
of people, too.

It Must Be Madness
"It must be madness, the way we let things devour us. The way we let the things we want out, back in.
And the horror of it all is, we stay attracted to everything that hurts. We cling to it and never really learn to let go.
So perhaps we do want happiness, but we also desire to keep the pain close. Close enough to destroy us, close enough to define us, and close enough to make us feel a little less cold."
